Who We Are

The Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors (BOG) is an energetic community of philanthropic leaders who are helping define the future of healthcare. Established by the Board of Directors in 1971, we have become the primary fundraising and leadership group at Cedars-Sinai. Our mission is to support Cedars-Sinai’s foremost clinical programs, biomedical research, and community outreach by providing financial resources, educational experiences, and volunteer opportunities.

“Through the years, support from the Board of Governors has been central to Cedars-Sinai’s growth and pursuit of excellence.”

—Tom Priselac, President and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

Members of the Board of Governors have committed $100 million to fund lifesaving research and patient care in the past decade alone. The accomplishments of our members include:

The Board of Governors Heart Stem Cell Center Campaign

Our current $20 million campaign is focused on revolutionizing the treatment of heart disease. Under the leadership of Eduardo Marbán, MD, PhD, of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, researchers at the Board of Governors Heart Stem Cell Center are using patients’ own heart stem cells to regenerate healthy heart tissue and heal damaged hearts.

This experimental therapy, currently in clinical trials, could forever change how heart disease is treated. For more information about our current campaign, contact David Levy at (310) 423-7471 or email BOG@cshs.org.

Membership

Members join the Board of Governors for a variety of reasons. Number one: the desire to make a difference—to Cedars Sinai and its patients, to the community, and to the advancement of medical knowledge through forward-looking research. Learn more about membership opportunities below.
