Tom Collier Memorial Regatta

What: Every summer the “Race for Hope” brings sailors and friends together at the King Harbor Yacht Club to ride the winds toward a cure for cancer. The annual regatta was established to honor the memory of Tom Collier, a Club member who succumbed to cancer.

Since 1996, the annual event has raised more than $400,000, all of which directly supports the research of Phillip Koeffler, MD, director of Cedars-Sinai’s Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Mark Goodson Chair in Oncology Research at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Dr. Koeffler’s lab is investigating the molecular causes of breast cancer to bring about personalized treatment options.

When: Date for 2014 to be announced.

Where: King Harbor Yacht Club, Redondo Beach

What A Pair!

What: What A Pair! is a Broadway-caliber production of duets sung by an eclectic array of celebrities from television, film, music, and the stage. The concert is followed by a dinner and after-party with the celebrity cast.

Since its inception in 2002, What A Pair! has raised over $2.5 million for breast cancer research. Net proceeds go to the breast cancer research and education programs at the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
