Research already in progress at Cedars-Sinai promises to:

  • Find the link between low birth weight and heart disease risk as an adult
  • Identify genetic risk factors associated with Crohn’s Disease and Colitis—diseases impacting a greater number of children every year
  • Develop new methods to combat antibiotic-resistant “MRSA” bacteria—a pandemic threat—through research in the division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases
  • Reduce the incidence of maternal mortality in childbirth
  • Advance innovative therapies for inflammatory bowel disease in children
  • Create a blood test for early detection of ovarian cancer while developing individualized treatment plans for ovarian, uterine, tubal, and cervical cancers
