Who We Are
The Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors (BOG) is an energetic community of philanthropic leaders who are helping define the future of healthcare. Established by the Board of Directors in 1971, we have become the primary fundraising and leadership group at Cedars-Sinai. Our mission is to support Cedars-Sinai’s foremost clinical programs, biomedical research, and community outreach by providing financial resources, educational experiences, and volunteer opportunities.
“Through the years, support from the Board of Governors has been central to Cedars-Sinai’s growth and pursuit of excellence.”
—Thomas M. Priselac, President and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Members of the Board of Governors have committed $100 million to fund lifesaving research and patient care in the past decade alone. The accomplishments of our members include:
Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute
Our current campaign is raising $30 million for the Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute (RMI). Led by Clive Svendsen, PhD, a multidisciplinary team is transforming the treatment of life-threatening illnesses like Parkinson’s disease and ALS by using a patient’s own cells to repair damaged, aged, or diseased tissue. From skeletal disorders to diseases of the brain, eye, pancreas, liver, and blood, the RMI’s physicians and scientists are pioneering new possibilities in personalized medicine.
