Cancer: supports research on all types of cancer, cancer prevention and community outreach, survivorship programs, as well as training the next generation of cancer experts.

Children’s: supports a seamless continuum of primary and specialty care for hospitalized patients and outpatients as they grow from newborns to adolescents to adults including leading-edge pediatric research and forward-looking physician education and training.

COACH for Kids: supports the mobile medical units that bring healthcare services to low-income children; also provides clothes and shoes for needy families, car seats, food cards, and new wheelchairs for the disabled.

Employee Disaster Relief Fund: fund provides resources for Cedars-Sinai staff at the medical center, Medical Network, and the Marina del Rey Hospital in times of critical need as a result of a catastrophic event such as a fire, or other unforeseeable and imminent emergencies of a catastrophic nature. Applications can be submitted confidentially with proof of need/documents via email to “Group HR EDRF Committee” for consideration and if approved, the process will be expedited to handle the emergency.
Gastroenterology: supports research in liver, pancreas and biliary diseases, GI motility, and inflammatory bowel disease, as well fellowship training programs.
Heart Disease: supports heart stem cell research, cardiac imaging, women’s heart disease research and treatment, heart transplants, and testing for potential heart disease.

Volunteer Services: supports developing and overseeing programs that provide emotional support and compassion to our patients and an extra set of hands for our busy staff throughout the medical center. Volunteers are adults of all ages, high school and college students, and even therapy dogs, through the Barbara Cowen POOCH (Pets Offering Ongoing Care and Healing) Volunteer Program.

Youth Employment and Development (YED) Program: exposes high school students to careers within the health care industry. The program is based on three concepts: work-based learning, school-based learning and mentoring. By educating, training and exposing students to the work-place with seasoned professionals as mentors and guides, we become the foundation of their future.
